The Recode Method
THE RECODE METHOD
You already know what to do. So why do the same old patterns keep winning?
You can have the plan. Read the books. Know the strategy. Want the change with every rational part of you. And then the real moment arrives, and something older takes over.
It happens when it is time to name your price. Send the proposal. Follow up. Ask for the sale. Receive more money than feels familiar. Make the decision. Set the boundary. Take the opportunity. Allow yourself to be seen.
Suddenly there is tension. Hesitation. Overthinking. Delay. A reason to wait. A reason to shrink the goal. A reason to return to what feels familiar.
The problem is not always that you do not know what to do. The problem can be the response that appears when it is finally time to do it.
The gap between knowing and responding
Most of us carry far more than conscious intentions into an important moment. We also carry old conclusions, learned rules, emotional associations, expectations, memories and habits of response.
You may consciously want more money while another part of you still associates more money with pressure, judgement, risk or responsibility. You may want greater visibility while an older response says that being seen is dangerous. You may want a better relationship while automatically preparing for the disappointment you have experienced before.
None of that means you are incapable of changing. It means that a conscious decision and an automatic response are not always the same thing.
The Recode Method was created for that gap.
THE CENTRAL IDEA
Experience the new response before life asks for it.
A Recode experience is designed to help you settle your attention, notice the pattern beneath the surface, loosen the authority of an old rule, and mentally rehearse a more useful response in the kind of situation where you actually need it.
Why I did not want to make another library of generic affirmations
Affirmations can be useful. Repetition can help make an idea more familiar. But there is a difference between repeating a sentence and experiencing yourself responding differently.
If you are telling yourself “I am confident” in the morning, but mentally rehearsing fear every time you imagine naming your price, your mind is receiving two very different rehearsals.
So Recode recordings do not simply give you a list of statements and ask you to believe them harder.
They use a structured combination of guided hypnosis, subconscious storytelling, mental rehearsal, progressive suggestion, identity work, intention and practical behavioural anchors. The purpose is not to force an unbelievable new identity onto you. It is to make a more useful response easier to imagine, practise and recognise.
Then comes the part no recording can do for you: you take that response into the real world.
Inside a Recode experience
Each recording is built around a deliberate sequence. The exact language, stories and exercises change with the subject, but the architecture remains consistent.
01 · INTRODUCE
Know where you are going.
The session begins by orienting you to the experience, the subject and what you are about to explore. No mystery for mystery's sake.
02 · INTEND
Give the session a direction.
You are invited to connect with a clear intention. Not a guarantee of an external result, but a direction for the internal work.
03 · ENTER
Turn down the outside noise.
Guided hypnosis and focused attention help you settle, relax and move away from the constant commentary of the day.
04 · REVEAL
Make the pattern visible.
Through topic-specific language, imagery and storytelling, the recording helps you notice the rule, expectation or response that may have been operating automatically.
05 · RELEASE
A chapter is not a contract.
The aim is not to erase your history. It is to stop treating every old conclusion as a permanent instruction for what must happen next.
06 · REHEARSE
Meet the real moment in advance.
You mentally enter an ordinary future situation where the old pattern might normally appear and practise a different response before you face it for real.
07 · RECODE
Build belief progressively.
Suggestions move from possibility, to familiarity, to a more useful self-image. The language is designed to feel plausible rather than demanding that you pretend to believe something you do not.
08 · RESPOND
Give yourself something usable.
Simple words, cues and behavioural anchors are connected to the response you rehearsed so you have something practical to remember when the moment arrives.
09 · INTEGRATE
Turn rehearsal into evidence.
The recording connects the inner rehearsal with the real-world actions that can give you new evidence about who you are becoming.
10 · RETURN OR SLEEP
Close the experience properly.
Depending on the purpose of the recording, the session either guides you back to normal alertness or allows you to continue naturally into sleep.
THE RECODE PRINCIPLE
Repetition strengthens familiarity. Action creates evidence. Evidence strengthens identity.
That is why Recode is not built around passive listening alone. A new response becomes far more meaningful when you begin to use it, see yourself use it and collect evidence from your own behaviour.
The five-second bridge back into real life
You will hear variations of a simple behavioural sequence inside appropriate Recode experiences:
Notice the old response without immediately turning it into an identity. Breathe and create a moment of space. Remember the response you rehearsed. Choose the most useful next response available to you. Then act in whatever small, practical way produces real evidence.
The goal is not perfect control. It is having another option available when the familiar pattern appears.
What makes a Recode recording different?
It is built around a specific moment, not a vague promise.
Money, receiving, asking, visibility, worry, scarcity and self-image show up in situations. Recode recordings are designed around those situations, not around empty claims that everything will suddenly change.
It uses storytelling to make an internal idea experiential.
Instead of only explaining a concept, the recording uses imagery, metaphor and guided experience to help you encounter it from the inside.
It rehearses behaviour, not just belief.
You are not only invited to think differently. Where appropriate, you mentally practise what you might notice, choose and do differently in a real future moment.
It does not require you to pretend.
Suggestions can move progressively. “This is possible” may be a more useful starting point than forcing “this is already true” when your own mind immediately rejects it.
It ends in the world outside your headphones.
A recording can provide rehearsal, perspective and cues. Your actions create the evidence that matters.
For the person who keeps saying, “I know this. So why am I still doing it?”
The Recode Method is especially relevant if you are ambitious, self-aware and already familiar with personal development, yet you keep finding one or two patterns that survive every new piece of information.
- You know you should follow up, but delay when the moment comes.
- You want more money, but become uncomfortable around asking, receiving or keeping it.
- You understand confidence intellectually, but still shrink in particular situations.
- You have a vision for your business, but old self-image keeps pulling the goal back toward what feels familiar.
- You are open to hypnosis, mental rehearsal, manifestation or intention work, but you also believe change should eventually show up in how you live and act.
If what you want is a recording that promises money, love, success or any other result while asking nothing of you in the real world, Recode is probably not the right fit.
If what you want is a structured way to work with the response beneath the strategy, then you are exactly who I created it for.
WHY I BUILT IT THIS WAY
After hundreds of people, the same pattern kept appearing.
Since 2018, I have coached more than 500 people one-to-one and led thousands of live group coaching sessions, much of that work with entrepreneurs, business owners and ambitious people trying to create more from their lives.
Again and again, I saw capable people who did not need another strategy. They often knew exactly what to do. The friction appeared when knowledge had to become behaviour.
My own study and training has included hypnosis, Rapid Results Coaching, Extraordinary Coaching, the Peace Process, Muscle Testing, Instant Miracle Coaching, intention-based approaches, manifestation, self-image, autosuggestion and behavioural change.
Recode Your Mind is my attempt to bring the most useful elements of that work into one structured listening experience, while keeping one foot firmly in the real world: rehearse internally, then create evidence externally. Read more about Matt →
Where does the old pattern still win?
Start there. Not with the person you think you should become eventually. With the moment that keeps repeating now.
Recode your thoughts. Recode your patterns. Recode your mind.
Recode recordings are personal-development experiences. They do not guarantee financial, medical, psychological or other external outcomes and do not replace qualified professional advice. Only listen when you are somewhere safe to relax. Never listen while driving, operating machinery or doing anything requiring your full attention.
